On 9 May 2025, there was a meeting in Tokyo between Mr. Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Japanese professors, including professors of Sophia University. The meeting was aimed to discuss peace and stability in the Middle East and collaboration between Jordan and Japan.

The meeting was organized and moderated by Prof. Daisaku Higashi, President of Japan Global Dialogue and Professor at Center for Global Education at Sophia University in Tokyo, due to the request by Jordan embassy in Japan; the meeting was attended by Prof. Sali Augustine, Chancellor of Sophia University; Prof. Masayuki Akahori, Vice President on Academic Affairs at Sophia University; Prof. Kazuhiro Maeshima, Professor in Department of Global Studies at Sophia University; Prof. Namie Tsujigami in Department of Global Studies at Sophia University; Prof. Tetsuro Morishita, Department of Law at Sophia University; and Prof. Megumi Ikeuchi, Professor at the University of Tokyo.


At first, Minister Safadi briefed Jordan policies on international affairs; then, there was an active discussion and exchange of opinions on further cooperation between Jordan and Japan.
